Warcast

There is a warmachine podcast I listen to call Warcast, they have some stuff going on in their latest podcast I thought I'd tell you lot about. For one they are giving away a Trollkin War Wagon (not painted like my Throne) to the person who posts the best battle report on their forums (details at about an hour and 5 minutes into the podcast). Defiant gaming are also doing an extra 10% off their orders with a discount code at about 1 hour and 42 minutes on the podcast. I'm buying some paints, been using some Vallejo airbrush paints and they are just so much better than the GW/citidel paints. I had intended to move away from GW anyway but this way I have the GW paints there to finish off units I've half done and to touch up models.

Round 4 - details

Following the trail of the dragonblight the Skorne, Everblight and Cryx have pushed deep into the subterranean  complex. The warbands have started to come accross creatures mutated by the dragon blight, though these are not the controlled creations of Everblight these creatures are none the less very dangerous. The three armies have found themselves in what seems to be a temple dedicated to the dragon.

Scenario - Restoration

In addition there will be Everblight beasts on the field (that I cannot control as they are creations of another dragon- I'll update with what they are when I've written my list and know what I have left over). These warbeasts will suffer from -2 MAT, RAT and ARM to represent the uncontrolled state of their mutations and will frenzy every round with the exception of the one heavy warbeast in the centre of the control zone who will only activate after someone has entered the control zone or controlls an objective. This beast will from then on frenzy every turn.

The two Cygnar forces, the forces of Menoth and Khador have entered the caves without the level of knowledge of dragonblight possessed by the other factions and have found themselves wondering blind. They have each found themselves in an underground complex in a small room with no knowledge of the surrounding complex. As they move into adjacent rooms they will become aware of more of the map. Scattered around the map are artifacts of the dragon. Each player gains 1 point for each of these artifacts and 3 points for killing another warcaster. When a player is destroyed that player keeps their points and all of that players models are removed from the board. First player to reach 4 points wins and gains 3 campaign points and the player with the second highest score (or the second player to reach 4 points) gains 1 campaign point. The winner removes all their models from the board when they have reached 4 points.

Rules - spaces between tiles are walls and considered impassable terrain, though unlike regular impassable terrain you cannot fly over them. You can use the entire space of the tiles, the black edges are considered open ground. You must be able to fit through gaps without any part of your base going over the edges of the tiles though.

Good luck to everyone but Graham and Ed whom I will crush (crush I tell you).

Round 4

The harbour has fallen to Khador, the mountains controlled by Cryx, the lake by Everblight and the lands south of the lake have fallen to the Skorne and in the north nothing remains but the rubble left in the wake of the dragons rampage.

With the chaos and destruction warbands of Mercenaries and deserting Cygnar have been hiding in caves in the mountains. Unfortunately one of those warbands appears to have selected the wrong cave and the dragon has again been disturbed and taken to the skies. However this time the forces in the city were prepared for it, attacks from the Cryx forces in the mountains appear to have severely wounded the dragon and it has retreated into caves deep in the mountains. Cryx and Everblight have quickly entered the caves to claim the Athank of the wounded dragon. The Skorne recognising the blight of the dragon have also sent a force and Cygnar, Khador and Menoth despite not understanding the full import of the dragon have pushed into the caves in the mountains in an attempt to force a final confrontation and claim the region.

The caves in this mountain are clearly not natural, it appears that a cult worshipping the dragon has been secretly building networks throughout the mountain.

No new rewards for winning the next battles, I think I like the idea of armies entering the final round without any bonuses. Also Theo can't make it tomorrow either I was going to make it a four player and a 3 player this week, we can probably still play the three if people are happy with that or leave it for next club.

This Weekend

So far Uli and David can't make it which is enough for the four player game Ed wanted to run but if Owen can't make it then there will only be three, I'm writing a post to explain what is going on in the final two campaign battles but I keep changing my mind, expect the final draft today some time. The leaderboard has been updated and one day the map may be updated, one day... here is the image ed was talking about:

poor Mulg is crying but I am not. Next thing I'm excited about is the concept art for the everblight one, I have no idea what the everblight one is going to look like they make some crazy looking stuff. Exhibit A - the throne of everblight.

Speaking of the throne of everblight:

All I have to say about that is WOOOOO! and an additional WOOOOOOOO!
